Notes

Courses

A first course in quantum information theory (PSI course, video lectures available here: https://pirsa.org/c25006)
Quantum cryptography (Journeys 1 week course)

Outreach

Here are some notes I prepared for outreach activities in the past:

Problem solving strategies (undergrad or high school level)
Open ended problem solving (undergrad or high school level)
Early days with quantum tasks (undergrad level)
Quantum cryptography and black holes (general public level)
LED flashlight lesson plan (ages 7-11, in collaboration with UBC Physics Outreach)
Light and colour worksheet (ages 7-11, in collaboration with UBC Physics Outreach)
My Scratch homepage: https://scratch.mit.edu/users/alexmay28/

I also worked on the UBC Physics “Phenomenal Physics and home” webpages. I am especially fond of the quantum teleporter activity, and my Stern-Gerlach simulator.

Other notes

I also have some more research level notes:

Thoughts on how to give a good talk: Notes, slides.
My PhD thesis on Quantum tasks in holography.
An intro lecture on quantum information I wrote for the WITP summer school (grad and undergrad level)
An intro lecture on AdS/CFT, also for WITP summer school (grad and undergrad level)
